Abstract
One way to better understand approaches to Quranic studies is to examine the similarities and differences in scholars' perspectives across various times and periods. This research aims to comparatively analyze Quranic studies by Orientalists during modernism, postmodernism, and metamodernism, based on a comparative method, and conducted as documentary research with data collected through note-taking forms. The corpus of this study includes all relevant documents, records, and sources related to the subject. Through comparative and analytical evaluation of the data, this study proposes a new periodization in the field of Orientalist Quranic studies, revealing that the characteristics and prevailing thought of each of these three periods have significantly influenced the interpretation, analysis, and conclusions of these studies. Accordingly, an accurate assessment of Orientalists' Quranic research findings cannot be made without considering the element of time and the dominant intellectual context of each period.
