Abstract
The Encyclopedia of the Quran (EQ) was published in Leiden, the Netherlands, in six volumes from 2001 to 2006. This research answers two questions in order to discover the general approach of this encyclopedia; first, what does the overview of the topics included in the Encyclopedia of the Quran show and second, what effect did the religious and national scope of the authors have on the general theoretical approach of the encyclopedia and to obtain the results, it used the content analysis method and statistical software XMind and Excel. The subject of the entries was initially divided into two sections: Quranic knowledge and Quranic sciences, and then each of them was divided into smaller branches. Most of the entries in the Quranic knowledge section are related to the humanities, in which 24% of this area is devoted to issues of belief, including Islamic and other religions, 22% to history, 14% to religious rules, and 14% to non-religious rules. In the personality section, it was found that the nationality of most of the authors is American and in terms of religion, only 20% are Muslim. All authors, including the Muslim minority and the non-Muslim majority, have common foundations and assumptions, and their scientific productions are carried out in the form of secular science and play a role in a single system designed by the directors of this work.
